Wetzel joins the Northern State University Athletic Department after graduating from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in May of 2016. Her primary responsibilities including working with the cross country, wrestling, and track and field teams.Â

As an athletic training student at UND, Wetzel completed over 1,000 hours of clinical-based education assisting swimming and diving, track and field, softball, football, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball, as well as multiple sports at Grand Forks Red River High School.

Wetzel also brings a wealth of experience as a Duke University athletic training intern, where she worked at off-season football practices and multiple youth camps creating preventative equipment, caring for acute and chronic athletic injuries, and assessing general medical conditions.

Wetzel is pursuing  a Master’s Degree in Sports Performance and Leadership at Northern State.Â
