2022-23: Recorded personal bests of 1:58.98 in the 800m, 4:28.66 in the mile, 4:10.13 in the 1500m, and 9:48.91 in the 3000m steeplechase… Tallied 13 top-10 finishes on the year… Was a member of the fifth place DMR (10:15.71) at the NSIC Indoor Championships…

2021-22: Recorded personal bests of 4:39.87 in the mile, 2:38.75 in the 1000m, 10:04.04 in the 3000m steeplechase, 2:00.97 in the 800m, and 4:11.23 in the 1500m… Won both the 800m and 3000m steeplechase at the NSU Dewey Donat Classic… Record seven top-10 finishes on the year…

Season and Career Bests

Prep: Jonathan Burkhalter is a distance runner from Prairie City, South Dakota. He is homeschooled, competing at Bison High School. He is a 6-year letter winner for the Cardinals. Burkhalter holds personal bests 2:01 (800m), 4:26 (1600m), 9:57 (3200m), and 16:20.00 (XC 5k). He won state titles this past season 1600m and 3200m and placed third in the 800m. His team's won the track and field state title (2016) and cross country state championships (2020).  He is the son of Brad and Jennifer Burkhalter.
