Tanner Berg enters his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the track and field program in the fall of 2022. A decorated athlete at Northern State, Berg is a 7-time All-American, 5-time NSIC Champion, 3-time school record holder, and 2022 NCAA National Champion in the hammer throw for the Wolves.
Northern took sixth (men) and eighth (women) from the NSIC Indoor Championships and fourth (men) and 11th (women) from the NSIC Outdoor Championships in 2021-22.
Berg graduated with his bachelors in Human Performance and Fitness from NSU in the spring of 2021 and is currently pursuing a masters degree in Human Performance and Leadership.
