Prep: Vliem is a 6-foot-9, 215-pound center out of Sturgis Brown High School. He is the son of Northern State Hall of Famer Jeremy Vliem and Cindy Vliem. He was a 3-year starter for the Scoopers under the direction of head coach Derris Buus. Vliem averaged 8.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, earning Black Hills All-Conference second team honors. The Scoopers reached the SoDak 16 in 2022-23. In addition, Vliem is a member of the ECI program out of Fargo and an all-conference performer in football.
