Biography

Before Northern
A four-year starter for the Coyotes, he racked up more than 3,000 yards on the offensive side of the ball and 200+ tackles on defense. As a senior, Mathews tallied 12 total touchdowns, including five through the air. He had a career-high 291 reception yards in that season. For his efforts, Mathews was named to the Western Great Plains All-Conference team in each of his last three seasons of play. He was also an Honorable Mention All-Conference pick as a freshman. Mathews was also a three-time All-Conference selection on the basketball court for the Coyotes.
