Northern State University Athletics

Pre-NSU:  Matthew was named to the All Marine League Defense in 2005 and 2006 and was award team captain in 2006 at San Pedro High School in California.  At Santa Barbara City College, Matthew was named to the 2008 and 2009 All League Defense and was named team captain.  Matthew recorded 64 tackles, three for loss and two interceptions.  He was ranked as the ninth leading tackler in the American Pacific Conference and in the top 50 in the SCFA (Southern California Football Association).  In 2009, Matthew played in six games and recorded 64 tackles, seven for loss, one sack, one interception, one force fumble, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups.  He was ranked first in tackles in the American Pacific Conference and was rank third in the SCFA.
