Biography

Before Northern
Sullivan was a three-sport standout at St. Thomas More HS. He earned All-Black Hills Conference, Best of the West and team Offensive MVP honors as both a sophomore and junior for the Cavaliers under head coach and father Wayne Sullivan. Jake also earned Honorable Mention Argus Leader Elite 45 honors and was an honorable mention all-state quarterback selection as a junior after throwing for 1,802 yards and 20 touchdowns. He had 651 rushing yards and six TDs on the ground in that campaign, leading the Cavaliers to a 9-2 record and the semifinals of the state playoffs. He was 35-for-62 for 602 yards and five touchdowns through the air and accounted for another three touchdowns on the ground in three games to start his senior year before it was cut short by injury. Off the field, Sullivan was a member of a state champion American Legion baseball and STMHS basketball teams, leading the Cavaliers to back-to-back state titles on the basketball court in 2011 and 2012. He earned STMHS's Clark Cobberly Award, given to student-athletes who participate in three or more sports and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or better. Sullivan is a member of the National Honor Society and is active in a variety of extra-curricular endeavors. His father and coach Wayne Sullivan played baseball at Mount Marty College in Yankton and is a member of the MMC Hall of Fame.
