Prep: Jake Oliphant is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end out of Spring Creek High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Spartans under head coach Mike Tournahu. Oliphant tallied 253 yards receiving with two touchdowns on offense, and 120 tackles and 7.5 tackles for a loss on defense. He was named to the second team All-3A North as a tight end and honorable mention team as a defensive end, as well as the all-state academic team in 2016 and 2017. Oliphant was awarded Semper Fiedelis All-American, the Wendy’s Heisman School Award Winner, and the Elko Daily Free Press Academic Award. The Spartans were the 2016 Nevada State Runners-up and 2017 Nevada State Semifinalists. He is the son of Roger and Jackie Oliphant.
