R.C. Kilgore begins his second season as the graduate assistant/outside linebackers coach in the fall of 2016.
With the Wolves in 2015, Kilgore coached two linebackers to All-NSIC honors in first teamer Taylor Zemlicka and second teamer Devin Olson. Olson and Zemlicka also led the team with 87 and 74 tackles respectively in 2015.Â

Kilgore was a four year letter winner for South Dakota State under head coach Stiegelmeier. In the fall of 2013 he had a break out senior year leading the Missouri Valley Football conference with 134 tackles. In addition to being the top tackler in the Missouri Valley, he also led the nation at the FCS level with five fumble recoveries, ending the year responsible for seven turnovers earning his way to First Team Missouri Valley All-Conference honors, College Sports Madness Second team All-American, SDSU's Doug Miller Defensive MVP award, Hampshire Football Honor Society, and MVFC All-Academic honorable mention.

During his time at SDSU Kilgore was a three time Iron Jack, four time MVFC academic honor roll member, 2012 MVFC commissioner academic excellence award winner, and active member in FCA. Kilgore graduated from South Dakota State University in spring of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, teacher education and minors in health education and recreation administration.
Upon graduation, Kilgore spent 1 year teaching Physical Education and Health at Harvey High School in Harvey, North Dakota. While at Harvey, he built and implemented one of the best lifetime fitness physical education programs in the state. In football he coached two Harvey Hornet linebackers to all-region honors. Kilgore is now married to his college sweet heart Erica Kilgore.
