Paulson enters his first season in the fall of 2015 as the Wolves defensive backs coach.
Paulson joins the NSU Football program after spending the last four seasons as the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach/linebackers at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. In 2014 the Rebels appeared in the FBS Heart of Dallas Bowl.
Over the course of his coaching career, Paulson recorded two stints at his alma mater University of Montana. From 1988-1999, Kraig served in a variety of roles for the Grizzlies as their linebacker coach, defensive line coach, assistant head coach/defensive line coach, and defensive coordinator. After a three year break as the defensive coordinator at Utah State University, Kraig returned to Montana as the assistant head coach/defensive line coach and the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator until moving on to UNLV.
From 1988-2009, Paulson coached teams to seven Division I-AA first round playoff appearances, three Division I-AA semifinalist nods, one Division I-AA national finalist appearance, and the 1995 Division I-AA National Championship. His experience continues in the FCS ranks, as he has coached one first round playoff appearance and two national finalist appearances.
Kraig earned the All-American Football Foundation Assistant Coach Award in 2006, as well as being named a Master Sports Clinic Featured Speaker. Among his accomplishment is coaching 2007 Buck Buchanan Award Winner, Kroy Biermann.
Paulson graduated from University of Montana with a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a Business Emphasis.
