Pronunciation: Clayton Green-Ike

Prep: Clayton Grueneich is a 6-foot, 195-pound running back out of Ellendale Public School. He was a 4-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Cardinals and Thunder under head coach Jon Schiele. Grueneich tallied 5,300 career rushing yards and 64 touchdowns, with 35 of them coming in 2016. He was named the 2017 Class A 11-Man Senior Athlete of the Year. Grueneich is a 2-time Aberdeen All-Area team member and a 2016 North Dakota State Champion. He is also the 2017 North Dakota State Champion at 195-pounds, as the only undefeated wrestler in the state. He is the son of Kristi Gilbert and Brent Grueneich.
