Prep: Alex Tanner is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound punter and tight end out of Gettysburg High School. He was a 3-year starter and team captain for the Battlers under the direction of head coach Vern Smith. Tanner tallied 271 yards receiving and five touchdowns for GHS. He was an all-conference honoree, 2-time all-state selection, academic all-state pick, and Argus Leader Elite45 team member. In the fall of 2021, Gettysburg finished as the South Dakota 9B runner-up. He is the son of Don and Tonya Tanner.
