An all-state and all-conference player, Hurlbert batted over .400 and recorded a sub 1.50 ERA. Hurlbert won a state championship with the Senators baseball club team, where they compiled a record of 47-14 on the season under the direction of head coach John Burnett. He is the son of Paul and Maria Hurlbert.
