Ryan Jerle enters his ninth season at Northern State University as Baseball assistant under Dean Berry in 2018-19.

The Wolves returned to the NSIC Tournament in 2018 as the eighth seed, going 2-2 with wins over top seeded Minot State and Wayne State.

Jerle helped lead the Wolves to their third straight NSIC Conference Tournament appearance in 2016. The Wolves tied a school record in wins (28) in 2014 and won 27 games in 2015. He also coached Nick Hoffard to the NSIC Newcomer of the Year award in 2016, after the junior tallied a league low 1.33 ERA and matched the single season school record with seven wins. Hoffard was also named to the All-NSIC first team.

Prior to being at NSU he served as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Dakota State University (DSU). He was at DSU during two different coaching eras, Pat Dolan 2003-2007 and Dean Berry.

In 2007, the Trojans set a school record with 39 wins and were nationally ranked, 7th in NAIA Baseball. Underneath the direction of Dolan and Berry, DSU flaunted 8 All-Americans and 52 All-Conference selections. 2003 and 2005 Dakota State reached the Super Regional Tournament.

Professional contracts were offered to six players from DSU. Pitcher Nick Mutz was selected in the ninth Round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Angels.

Jerle resides in Aberdeen with his longtime girlfriend Christi, their daughter Harper and stepchildren Hunter, Harrison and Huett, and their yellow lab Jack Daniels.
