Northern State University Athletics

Ryan Ellingson enters his second year as a graduate assistant working with the baseball team at Northern State.  An Aberdeen, S.D. native, Ellingson played for current Northern State Head Coach Mark Gulseth’s Aberdeen Smitty’s legion team and was part of the squad that won the 2004 High School Championship Team.  He graduated from Aberdeen Central in 2004.

From there he attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, and was named First Team All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and during his junior campaign, was named USCAA All-American and USCAA Academic All-American.  He was also team captain the last two years he was a Saint.  He graduated with his business degree from Presentation College in 2008.

He has also coached Teener baseball in Aberdeen for two years.

Ellingson will be pursuing a Master's degree in health, physical education, and coaching at Northern State.
