Women's Basketball // 1991-92 // 1993-94
The Northern State University women's basketball team found themselves in the NAIA National Finals for 3-straight seasons from 1992-94. The Wolves garnered National Championship titles in both 1991-92 and 1993-94 under the direction of long-time head coach Curt Fredrickson. In addition to the team success over the years, multiple Wolves were recognized on an individual basis. Barb Schmidt and Paula Stolsmark were named the tournament MVP's in 1992 and 1994, while Stolsmark also earned the Hustle Award in 1993.
Head Coach Curt Fredrickson was honored with the Phyllis Holmes Coach of the Year honor in both 1992 and 1994. Fredrickson was later inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in March of 2013 (Read the full induction release

The 1991-92 team won the NAIA National title and finished the season with a 30-4 record. The Wolves set out to defend their crown in 1992-93, but were defeated in the championship game. After dropping the season opener the following season, NSU reeled off 32 straight wins and made it to the National Championship game for the third season in a row. The Wolves claimed their second championship in three years by coming out on top in a thriller against host team Western Oregon State University. The team's 32-1 mark that season is a school record. In 1994-95, the Wolves jumped out to 13-0 mark and set new NAIA II and NCAA II records with 45 consecutive wins from Nov. 1993 to Jan. 1995.
In the program's first National Championship, the Wolves defeated Tarleton State 73-56 and finished the season with an overall record of 30-4. After a runner-up finish in 1992-93, the Wolves were back on the hunted and garnered their second championships over Western Oregon. NSU took down WOU 48-45.
