Pre-NSU: Richardson was named First Team All-Valley Conference and Offensive Freshman of the Year during his freshman campaign at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California.  In his sophomore year he earned the Triple “A” Award (Academics, Attitude, Ability) and was named Offensive Team Captain.  He had 201 carries for 1,255 yards (6.2 yards per carry avg.) and 12 rushing touchdowns during his time at SJDC, and also had 35 catches for 269 yards and four touchdowns over his two-year career.  As a prep at Merrill F. West High in Tracy, California, Richardson earned Tri-City Offensive Player of the Year, Tri-City MVP, two First Team All-Area honors, and two All-Purpose Player of the Year honors.  He also earned the John C. Kimball Award and the Merrill F. West High Athlete of the Year award.  He carried 262 times for 2241 (8.5 yards per carry avg.) for 28 rushing touchdowns as well as recording 18 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns receiving, and two passing touchdowns during his high school career.  He also recorded 24 tackles and three interceptions on defense, taking one of them back for a touchdown.
