2023-24: Competed in 16 meets for the Wolves… Tallied personal bests in the 60m (7.09), 400m hurdles (55.78), and 110m hurdles (14.60)… Finished seventh in the 110m hurdles at the NSIC Outdoor Championships…

2022-23: Recorded personal bests of 7.98 in the 55m hurdles, 6.65 in the 55m, 22.79 in the 200m, 51.23 in the 400m, 8.27 in the 60m hurdles, 56.07 in the 400m hurdles, and 14.82 in the 110m hurdles… Tallied 29 top-10 finishes on the year… Took seventh in the 60m hurdles (8.27) and fourth in the 4x400m (3:24.20) at the NSIC Indoor Championships… Placed fourth in the 110m hurdles (14.82), third in the 4x100m (41.88), and seventh in the 4x400m (3:23.40) at the NSIC Outdoor Championships…

2021-22: Recorded personal bests in the indoor 60m (7.29), indoor 200m (22.90), 60m hurdles (8.60), 400m hurdles (57.22), and 110m hurdles (15.88)… Added 18 top-10 finishes on the year… Took first in the 60m hurdles and 4x400m relay at the Mike Thorson Open… Member of the 4x100m relay squad that broke the school record with a time of 41.72…

Season and Career Bests

Prep: Joel Matehs is a hurdler out of Rugby High School. He is a 3-year letter winner for the Panthers under the direction of head coach Scott Grochow. He holds personal bests of 14.89 110m hurdles, 40.41 in the 300m hurdles, 11.24 in the 100m dash, and 22.83 in the 200m dash.  He won the state title in 110m hurdles, 4X100 and placed second in the 300m hurdles and 4X200 at the state meet. He is the son of Amanda and Josh Matehs.
