Prep: Makenzie Merritt is a 5-foot-7, right handed pitcher out of Waconia, Minnesota and Hopkins High School. She is a 5-year starter and senior team captain for the Royals under head coach Mark Peterson. Merritt is a 2016 All-Conference and All-Section honoree as the Royals won the Section Championships. Currently in her senior campaign, Merritt has 92 strikeouts and a .392 batting average. She is also a member of the Midwest Speed Club team where she held a .387 average last summer. She is the daughter of Jenny and Gedric Merritt.
