Biography
Pre-NSU: King earned five letters in swimming during her prep career, including earning All-Conference honors in the 400-free relay and participating in state in the same event. She also earned Rookie of the Year, Spirit Award, and Most Improved for her Detroit Lakes High School squad, while serving as team captain for two years. She also earned a letter in skiing. While not in the water, King was a member of the National Honor Society for three years and earned an Academic Excellence Award for four years. She was also active in the Holy Rosary Church Choir, Youth Board, Spanish Club, Breakfast Club, Concert Choir, Relay for Life, and also took mission trips to Mexico, Oklahoma and Ohio. Her older sister Karena is a swimmer at MSU-Moorhead.
