NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are coming off a 3-1 outing at the 2026 Oredigger Classic last weekend
  • Northern State currently stands at 8th in the NSIC and is no longer receiving votes in the latest AVCA Poll
  • Three NSU volleyball players were named to the classic's All-Tournament team: Linnea Nesheim (MVP), Ava Nilsson (Setter), and Victoria Persha (Right Side)
  • The team had 208 kills, 199 assists, 187 digs, and 28 service aces over their four matches (15 sets)
  • Nesheim leads the team in points scored for the Wolves (63.5), while Katelyn Schroeder (59) and Persha (51.5) follow right behind; they are also the top three on the team in kills with 56, 54, and 41 respectively
  • Ava Nilsson racked up 177 assists through those four matches with 44, 47, 35, and 51
  • Defensively, Ashley Yost holds a team-high 61 digs, followed by Nilsson with 36
 
OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN STORYLINES
  • Head coach Asa Freeman begins his third year leading OC volleyball
  • Last season they held a 19-10 overall record, 11-6 in the Lone Star Conference (LSC)
  • Their 2025 season ended with a LSC Tournament loss to the 2 seeded Lubbock Christian
  • The Eagles started this year off with a loss to Washburn, the then No. 8 team in the country; they followed that up with three straight wins to stand at 3-1 on the season
  • As a team Oklahoma Christian has 179 kills, 173 assists, 212 digs, 20 aces, and 24 blocks while hitting .230 (all slightly better than their opponents)
  • Their defense has held teams to a .172 attack percentage and has forced 82 errors
  • Team leaders include Jenna McClure (45 kills), Summer van Meerveld (84 assists), Macey Nehring (52 digs), and Lauren Cary (16 blocks)
 
THE WOLVES AND EAGLES HISTORY
  • There are no previous contests between the two programs
  • This is the first time these teams will face each other
 
NO. 11 MISSOURI WESTERN STORYLINES
  • Jessica Fey will start her fifth year as head coach of the Griffons volleyball team
  • Missouri Western went 21-8 (13-3 in the MIAA) during the 2025 season, winning a share of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Conference
  • The Griffons are off to a 4-0 start to the year, winning each of their matches by four sets or less
  • They come in at No. 11 in the country in the latest AVCA Poll rankings
  • Their team has recorded 190 kills on .274 hitting to go along with 172 assists, 224 digs, 27 aces, and 38 blocks; they've forced 95 errors and have held their opponents to a .119 attack
  • MWSU team leaders are Tanith Roush (54 kills), Hayley Barsky (63 assists), Anna Weberg (67 digs), and Mackenzie Peters (28 blocks)
 
THE WOLVES AND GRIFFONS HISTORY
  • The last meeting between the two teams took place on September 14, 2019, where Northern State came away with a 3-1 win over Missouri Western
  • The Wolves are currently on a single-match win streak vs the Griffons
  • The all-time record between the two programs is tied 1-1, with Missouri Western's lone win happening on September 1, 2012
 
NW MISSOURI STATE STORYLINES
  • Entering her 15th season as the Bearcats' head volleyball coach is Amy Woerth
  • NW Missouri State finished last year with a 9-16 overall record and 3-13 MIAA record; they made no appearance in the postseason
  • One week into the 2026 season, the Bearcats are 3-1, winning their first three matches and losing their fourth match in five sets to Harding
  • In the books for NWMSU are 195 kills, 186 assists, 270 digs, 34 blocks, 25 aces, and a .206 attack percentage
  • Defensively, they are holding their opponents to hitting .159 and have forced 76 errors
  • Leading the Bearcats are Gabrielle Gartner (47 kills), Mya Karrick (151 assists), Ellery Luhring (79 digs), and Chloee Hayes (11 blocks)
 
THE WOLVES AND BEARCATS HISTORY
  • The last meeting between the two teams took place on September 5, 2024, where Northern State came away with a 3-0 win over Northwest Missouri State
  • The Wolves are currently on a single-match win streak vs the Bearcats
  • The all-time record between the two programs is NSU – 4, NWMSU – 2
 
ROCKHURST STORYLINES
  • Trent Jones enters his sixth season as the Hawks' head coach
  • RU competed in the Oredigger Classic last weekend where they went 1-3; their lone win came against CSU Dominguez Hills in four sets
  • They lost to Flagler College and Colorado Springs, two opponents Northern State beat at the Oredigger Classic
  • Rockhurst is coming off of a 22-11 (11-2 GLVC) record last year where they finished second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings
  • Their 2025 season came to an end when they lost in straight sets to No. 20 Ferris State in the second round of the NCAA Midwest Regional
  • The team has recorded 234 kills, 215 assists, 201 digs, 35 blocks, and 27 aces so far; they are hitting .271 as a team and have committed 10 more errors than their opponents
  • Leading the Hawks are Ali Olson (47 kills and 17 blocks), Molly Trachta (100 assists), and Abby Boyd (40 digs)
