TAHSINI, TAYLOR NAMED ARMY NATIONAL GUARD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Mateo Tahsini (baseball) and Renea Taylor (women's track & field) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.

Tahsini hit .667 in three games against Sioux Falls. He tallied two hits in each contest, as well as a combined two runs scored and a double. The graduate student also notched five put-outs and did not give up an error. The California native went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Wolves 4-3 Sunday victory.

Taylor competed in multiple events for the Wolves at the Shamrock Invite. Running the second leg of the women's 4x100, Taylor helped the team to a 47.10 time and a third place finish. She aided in the 4x100 record setting time; breaking the school record for the event which was previously recorded in 2021 (47.25). The graduate student also ran in the 100m finals where she crossed the line at 11.89, earning her seventh place.
