NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves boast a 15-11 (10-10 NSIC) record after picking up two dominant wins over Bemidji State (73-55) and Minnesota Duluth (74-58) over the weekend
  • Through 26 games, Northern State averages 64.7 points, 36.9 rebounds, 11.9 assists, 6.1 steals, 2.3 blocks and 15.1 turnovers
  • As a team, the Wolves shoot 43% from the field, 30.5% from beyond the arc and 68.4% from the charity stripe
  • In their upset win over Minnesota Duluth, senior Izzy Moore recorded a career-high 41 points in the victory, tied for the second-highest scoring night in the NSIC this season, earning her conference player of the week honors for the third time this season
  • Moore has been the backbone for Northern State all season, leading the team in points per game (19.0 ppg), rebounds per game (6.7 rpg), assists per game (2.8 apg) and steals per game (1.8 spg)
  • The South Dakota native also boasts one of the best shooting splits on the team, shooting 48.5% from the field, 40% from long range and 75.3% from the line
  • The edition of Megan Counts in the paint this season has helped propel the Wolves to a winning record, with the graduate student averaging the second-most points (8.3 ppg) and the third-most rebounds (4.4 rpg) this season while shooting 52.6% from the field, the second highest on the team and highest among starters
  • Similar to Moore, freshman Reagan Rus had a career night in Duluth, Minnesota, earning 19 points in the game
  • This season, Rus averages 7.9 points, three rebounds, 1.2 assists and 20.8 minutes a game off the bench
  • Taylor Tool is third in scoring for the Wolves, averaging 8.2 points and 2.6 rebounds a game in her sophomore campaign while shooting 41.5% overall and 34.4% from deep
 
UNIVERSITY OF MARY STORYLINES
  • The Marauders boast a 21-8 (14-6 NSIC) record and currently are the fourth-ranked team in the NSIC
  • Over the weekend, UMary split games with MSU Moorhead (L, 76-69) and Minnesota Crookston (W, 87-68)
  • As a team, the Marauders average 76.6 points, 38.2 rebounds, 16.2 assists, 7.8 steals, 4.3 blocks and 14.6 turnovers a game while shooting 44.4% from the floor, 36.1% from deep and 79% from the line
  • Junior Bergan Kinnebrew has been one of the conference's best athletes this season, averaging 22 points (most in the NSIC and third in the nation), five rebounds, 3.9 assists (fifth in the NSIC) and 1.9 steals (tied for seventh in the NSIC)
  • The 5-11 guard shoots 46.1% from the field (ninth in the NSIC), 34% from three-point land and 88.1% from the free-throw line (fourth in the NSIC) and holds four of the top six spots for most points in a game in the conference this season
  • Kinnebrew isn't the only threat for the Marauders, as Allison Undlin has been one of the most efficient scorers in the conference, averaging 15.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks while making 61.7% of her field goals (best in the NSIC), 45.8% of her deep balls and 76.9% of her free throws
  • Chloe Pfau (9.5 ppg), Anna Lenzen (8.9 ppg) and Emily Jaenke (7.9 ppg) all average over seven and a half points a battle, while Pfau (5.2 rpg) and Lenzen (4.5 rpg) average at least four and a half rebounds an outing
  • Rick Neumann sits at the helm of UMary's women's basketball team and has been their head coach since 2012
 
WOLVES AND MARAUDERS HISTORY
  • Northern State holds a dominant 41-23 advantage over UMary, earning wins in five of their last ten matchups
 
MINOT STATE STORYLINES
  • MiSU is 10-17 (7-13 NSIC) this season and lost their last three outings by at least three points
  • Through 27 games, the Beavers average 69.2 points, 31.9 rebounds, 11.2 assists, 6.9 steals, 2.6 blocks and 14.8 turnovers a game
  • Minot State has shot 43.4% from the field, 33.3% from deep and 75.4% from the line this season
  • The Beavers boast three athletes averaging over ten points a game this season in Taryn Hamling (16.2), Jessica Mogen (11.0) and Maya Aguilar (10.9)
  • Redshirt sophomore Hamling has made a standing impact to both sides of the ball for the Beavers, leading the team in points per game (16.2 ppg) and steals per game (1.9 spg) while averaging 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists and shooting 42.8% from the field, 36.8% from deep and 85.3% from the line
  • Aguilar leads the team in rebounds with 5.6 a battle and is second on the team in blocks, earning 14 through 27 outings, while Tiyahna Trottier leads the team in the category with 21 on the season to pair with her 9.9 points a game
  • Ryan Clark is the head coach for Minot State, going 20-37 since his arrival in 2024
 
WOLVES AND BEAVERS HISTORY
  • NSU is 37-10 against MiSU and won its last game against the Beavers, 68-62, at home on Dec. 6
