WOLVES STAY IN TENTH AFTER CONCLUSION OF DAY THREE

WEST FARGO, N.D. – Northern State tallied 36 points on the third day of the 2025-26 NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships. Northern State sits in 10th with 133 points, while Minnesota State holds a commanding lead of 825.5 points heading into the final day of competition.

PRELIMS
  • In the 200-yard butterfly, Sidney Masgras led the way for the Wolves, recording an 18th-place finish in 2:22.81, while Emma Moore (21st) and Kenna Remily (23rd) followed at 2:25.51 and 2:45.20, respectively
  • Sydney Rogers took 24th in the preliminary round of the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:01.19 swim
  • In the same event, Northern State's Mazie Finch swam a 1:01.75 for 27th
  • Freshman Ella Wanschura (1:08.40) tallied a 26th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, placing first among three Wolves
  • Directly behind Wanschura in 27th was Marie Loest at 1:08.64, with Emma Beavers following in 29th at 1:09.63, one-hundredth of a second in front of SMSU swimmer Olivia Johnson
  • Remily also competed in the 500-yard freestyle during the third day of events, swimming a 6:12.50 for 36th
 
FINALS
  • Maya Hentges, Finch, Moore and Rogers notched eighth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.40, while Laila Gordillo, Lorelai Grund, Masgras and Loest finished in 1:43.13 for 18th place
 
TIME TRIALS
  • Five NSU Wolves took part in the 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly time trials, with Moore finishing with the third-fastest time in the butterfly at 27.36 seconds
  • Finch (25.55 seconds) led the way in the freestyle, earning the third-fastest time, with teammates Hentges (25.59), Grund (26.11) and Ilyanna Haigler (27.53) following directly behind her
 
UP NEXT
Northern State will finish the conference championships Saturday, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 5 p.m.
