WOLVES FINISH DAY TWO IN TENTH

WEST FARGO, N.D. — Northern State stayed in 10th place after the end of the second day of the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships. Northern State added 34 points to its name at the end of the second day.

PRELIMS

  • In the 100-yard butterfly, Emma Moore led the Wolves with a time of 1:01.65 for 32nd, while Sidney Masgras (1:03.67), Laila Gordillo (1:05.35) and Kenna Remily (1:11.51) followed in 37th, 39th and 43rd, respectively
  • Lorelai Grund finished 28th in the 400-yard IM with a time of 5 minutes, 20.47 seconds
  • Freshman Maya Hentges took 31st in the 200-yard freestyle event, swimming a time of 2:01.11, the fastest Wolf in the event
  • In the same event, Gordillo finished in 2:04.01 for 40th, while Ilyanna Haigler rounded out NSU placers in 45th with a time of 2:10.12
  • In the preliminary round of the 400-yard medley relay, NSU's team of Mazie Finch, Ella Wanschura, Moore and Sydney Rogers swam a time of 4:06.08 ahead of the finals round later in the day

FINALS

  • In the 400-yard medley relay, Northern State's team consisting of Finch, Wanschura, Moore and Rogers finished in 4:06.55, good for eighth in the event
  • In the same event, Riley Vraniak, Emma Beavers, Masgras and Hentges finished 19th in 4:13.47


UP NEXT
The Wolves will resume competition Thursday morning at 10 a.m. for another round of prelims before the finals at 5 p.m. in West Fargo, North Dakota.
