Worthington, Minn. – The Northern State University wrestling team traveled to the Worthington Open on Saturday with 17 Wolves in action. NSU tallied 12 top-8 finishes from the meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Up at 125-pounds, Zach Morse took second, notching wins over Leverknight of Briar Cliff (Inj. 6:16), Katherman of Augustana (Dec 4-1), and Ireland of Iowa Central (TF 20-5), before falling to Dupill of South Dakota State in the championship round
- Clay Gates went 3-1 in the 133-pound bracket, taking third, with wins over Eatman of Iowa Lakes (Fall 3:30), Vander Velde of Iowa Western (Fall 2:02), and Sherk of Iowa Central (MFF)
- Teagan Block wrestled to a fifth place finish in the 133-pound bracket with a 4-1 record overall, recording wins over Nelson of Ridgewater College (TF 17-2), Landon of Iowa Western (Maj. 13-0), Rigal of Briar Cliff (Fall 1:37), and Vander Velde of Iowa Western (Maj. 17-3)
