Eisenbeisz, Nilsson Named Army National Guard Athletes of the Week

Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Cooper Eisenbeisz (football) and Ava Nilsson (volleyball) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.

Eisenbeisz scored the first touchdown of his career and tied the game at 14 against Sioux Falls on Saturday. The redshirt freshman ran back the opening kick-off of the second half, 94-yards to the Cougar endzone. He now ranks third all-time in longest kick-off return at Northern State. The South Dakota native recorded 143 yards on kick returns against USF, averaging 47.7 yards per return.

Nilsson opened her collegiate career averaging 12.47 assists per set with 187 total assists. She paced the Wolves offense to a .321 attack percentage. The redshirt freshman is ranked second on the team with 36 digs and added a team leading six aces. The South Dakota native tallied a weekend best 51 assists against Chadron state, averaging 17.00 assists per set. Nilsson sits in the top-3 of the NSIC in total assists (third) and assists per set (second).
