Kraft, Poppen Named Army National Guard Athletes of the Week

Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Hank Kraft (football) and Kailyn Poppen (soccer) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend. 

Kraft tallied 155 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in the Wolves 31-10 victory over the Golden Bears. He recorded his first 100-yard game of the season, rushing for 104 yards with a touchdown. The senior added 51 yards receiving with a touchdown. The South Dakota native averaged 9.5 yards per carry with a 20-yard long and 17.0 yards per catch with a 30-yard long. The 30-yard reception was the opening touchdown of the contest for NSU. 

Poppen led Northern State in the NSIC opening weekend with a goal and an assist. She scored her first goal of the season in the Wolves 1-1 tie with Winona State. The sophomore added an assist on Savannah Funk's goal in the Sunday contest with Concordia-St. Paul. The South Dakota native tallied one shot on goal, one goal, and one assist in 146 minutes of play.
