NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • The Wolves head into the second week of NSIC play, following a 26-7 victory over Wayne State at home
  • Northern is averaging 27.0 points, 117.5 yards rushing, 281.5 yards passing, and 399.0 yards of total offense per game this season; converting at rates of 48.2% on third down and 75.0% on fourth down
  • Additionally, the defense has three interceptions and ten sacks through two contests
  • Under center, the Wolves have a dual threat of Daniel Britt and Brock Bagozzi; Britt is averaging 165.0 yards per game with two touchdowns and a 58.3 pass completion percentage, while Bagozzi is averaging 116.5 yards per game with two touchdowns and a 55.2 pass completion percentage
  • On the ground, Wyatt Block leads the team with 114 total yards rushing, followed by Britt with 67 yards and a touchdown
  • Three members of the Wolves receiving core have over 100 yards this season led by Jacoby Boykins with 117 and a touchdown; DJ Smith and Zach Kraft follow with 107 and 100 yards respectively with Kraft notching a team best two touchdowns
  • Jake Adams leads the team, the NSIC, and the nation with 37.0 total tackles, averaging 18.0 per game; he was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week following his 16 tackle, 1.0 sack, and one interception performance versus the Wildcats
  • Gabe Gutierrez sits atop the team and the NSIC with 3.0 sacks this season for a total loss of 20 yards
  • Jeremy Caruso got his first shot at a field goal last weekend, going 2-for-4 with a 38-yard long; he is averaging 61.3 yards per kickoff and is 6-for-6 in PATs
 

CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL STORYLINES

  • Concordia-St. Paul enters the week 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the NSIC with a win over Minot State (27-21) and losses to Quincy (38-7) and Minnesota Duluth (61-7)
  • CSP is averaging 13.7 points, 64.7 yards rushing, 211.0 yards passing, and 275.7 yards of total offense per game; converting at rates of 31.6% on third down and 12.5% on fourth down
  • On the defensive side, the Golden Bears have two interceptions and three sacks thus far
  • Lincoln Graf leads the offense with 457 total yards passing, four touchdowns, and a 68.3 pass completion percentage
  • In the rushing game, Parkees Harris leads the team with 79 yards rushing and one touchdown
  • Timothy Davis leads the receiving core with 258 total yards and one touchdown, averaging 23.5 yards per catch and 86.0 yards per game
  • Troy Ellison is second on the team with 160 yards receiving and one touchdown
  • The defense is led by Mike King and Ben Rehl with 25 and 22 tackles respectively this season, followed by Hudson Jean with 20
