Munroe, Hansen Named Army National Guard Athletes of the Week

Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Jayden Munroe (men's track and field) and Macoya Hansen (women's track and field) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.

Munroe won the long jump at the USD Challenge with a provisional mark and school record of 7.44m. He ranks 12th in the nation in the event. The sophomore bested the previous school record of 7.34m set by Calvin McGruder in 2011. The Bahamas native added a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a 14.28m mark. Munroe ranks second in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump in the NSIC.

Hansen threw a national provisional mark in the javelin in her first collegiate meet. She tossed 42.53m for a second place finish. The freshman ranks top-30 in the event nationally.
