Northern State Opens Frank Sevigne Invite with Six Season and Personal Bests

Lincoln, Neb. – The Northern State University track and field teams opened their weekend at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite on Friday with 12 Wolves in competition. Heading into day two, eight tallied top-15 finishes and two qualified for Saturday's final events.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • Chris Weber ran to a 60m qualifying time of 6.84 and will participate in Saturday's finals race with the eighth fastest time
  • Joel Matehs just missed finals in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.33 in ninth overall
  • Seth Martens tallied an eighth place finish in the 400m, crossing the finish line in a season best time of 48.81
  • Drew Salfrank rounded out the top-15 with a time of 50.12 in the 400m, while Carter Dingman also ran a season best in the event with a time of 51.38
  • Jayden Munroe jumped to a new personal best in the long jump with a mark of 7.02m in sixth overall
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • Renea Taylor advanced to finals in the 60m with the sixth fastest prelims time, a season best and provisional mark of 7.68
  • Taylor just missed finals in the 60m hurdles with a season best time of 9.02 in tenth overall
  • Anna Skachenko notched a 12th place finish in the 400m with a time of 57.93
