NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• The Wolves kick off their season up in Jamestown in their first season under the direction of head coach Kaley Ness
• Northern was picked 11^th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll with Emma Owens and Abby Rux selected as the team's players to watch
• NSU went 25-24 overall and 11-17 in the NSIC last season with three all-conference student-athletes

• The Vikings also open their season against the Wolves
• VCSU was picked second in the North Star Athletic Association Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning two first place votes

THE WOLVES AND VIKINGS HISTORY

• The Wolves swept the Vikings from the Jamestown Dome last season by scores of 8-0 and 9-1

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS STORYLINES

• Montana State Billings kicked off their season last weekend with a 4-game series at Metro State, falling in all four games
• MSU-B is hitting .271 as a team with 23 hits, ten doubles, one homerun, 12 RBI, and 13 runs scored; they are fielding .893 on the year with nine errors
• The pitching staff posts a 14.13 ERA through 18.1 innings of work with a .509 opponent batting average and ten strikeouts
• Marleigh Nieto leads the team with a .462 average and six hits, followed by Kaylin Galvin hitting .429

• Through five games, the Marauders are hitting .298 with 36 hits, eight doubles, three triples, 24 RBI, and 29 runs scored; they are fielding .972 with four errors and 90 putouts
• The pitching staff posts a 7.47 ERA through 30.0 innings of work with a .358 opponent batting average and 15 strikeouts
• Kelsey Mischel and Chloe Robinson leads the team hitting .500 and .455 this season with a combined nine hits
• UMary is led by head coach Amy Schmeckpeper in her second season
