Chris Weber (men's track & field) and
Rianna Fillipi (women's basketball) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.
Weber won the 60m at the SDSU Last Chance, matching his own school record time of 6.77. The senior added a second place finish in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 22.15. He heads into the NSIC Championships this week fourth in the league in the 60m with his time of 6.77. The mark is also an NCAA Provisional standard.
Fillipi led the Wolves offense during their weekend sweep against Sioux Falls and #17 Southwest Minnesota State. The grad student averaged 26.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while adding 13 assists and four steals. She connected on 22-of-40 shots from the floor and 6-of-7 from the foul line. Fillipi broke the program record for career steals and set a career-high in scoring with 27 points against USF. The win against the Cougars was also her first double-double of the season, adding ten rebounds. The guard led the team in the regular season finale with 25 points and eight assists against the Mustangs.
