Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Braydon Mogle (wrestling) and Emma Owens (softball) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.
 
Mogle went 2-0 on the week for Northern State against No. 1 St. Cloud State and Minot State. The senior opened his weekend with a 5-0 victory over No. 13 Alyeus Craig of SCSU. He then defeated Adrian Chavez by fall in the Wolves win over Minot State. Mogle led 12-1 over Chavez and pinned the Beaver at 6:39 in the match. The 141-pounder improved to 13-7 this season and 6-2 in the Northern Sun.
 
Owens led Northern State softball in their 4-0 opening weekend. She hit .750 with 12 hits, including four doubles and one triple. The Bismarck native notched a 1.125 slugging percentage and added a team leading ten RBI and eight runs scored. She recorded multiple hits in each of the four wins and played perfect defense with 15 putouts and three assists. The senior tallied a weekend high six RBI, three doubles, and one triple, going 4-for-4 in Saturday's victory over Valley City State.
