NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are 4-2 (0-1 NSIC) on the year after an 81-79 nail-biter win over Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday
  • This season, NSU has outscored opponents 384-381, averaging 64 points per game
  • Northern State has dominated off the glass through six games, recording 251 rebounds (41.5 boards per game) and outrebounding opponents 251-201
  • As a team, the Wolves are shooting 41.4% from the field, 23.3% from long range and 58.3% from the charity stripe
  • Izzy Moore (16.2), Morgan Fiedler (11.2) and Taylor Tool (10.5) all average over ten points a game through six outings
  • Moore has been a threat on both sides of the ball, leading the team in points per game (16.2) and steals per game (1.5), while averaging the second-most assists per game (2.8) and third-most rebounds per game (6.0)
  • Moore also leads the team in field-goal percentage at 52.1% and is second in free-throw percentage at 69.2%
  • Senior guard Fiedler leads the team in assists with 19 this season (3.2 per game)

  • UMary averages 35.6 rebounds, 14.6 assists, 8.9 steals and 4.2 blocks per game
  • Bergan Kinnebrew has excelled in her junior season, averaging 25.3 points (leading the conference), 5.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game, being named to the NSIC women's basketball Shining 5 two times this season
  • Kinnebrew has shot 50.4% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 90.1% from the line
  • Joining Kinnebrew with over ten points a game is Allison Undlin with 11.2 ppg this season
  • While recording the second-most points for the Marauders this season, Undlin leads the team in rebounds with 74 (8.2 per game) and blocks with 20 (2.2 per game)
  • UMary is currently ranked fourth in the conference behind Minnesota State (7-0, 1-0 NSIC), Wayne State (6-1, 1-0 NSIC) and MSU Moorhead (4-1, 1-0 NSIC)
  • Rick Neumann is in his 13th season at the helm of the UMary women's basketball program, with an overall record of 206-170 and boasting seven winning seasons
 
WOLVES AND MARAUDERS HISTORY
  • Northern State holds a 41-20 advantage over UMary, inching out with a 73-71 win on Nov. 21, 2024, and is 5-5 in their last 10 matchups
 
MINOT STATE STORYLINES
  • Through eight games, the Beavers are 3-5 (0-1 NSIC) and are 3-1 through their last four games
  • Though losing five of their eight games, Minot State has outscored its opponents 535-534 (66.9 points per game)
  • The Beavers are shooting 42.2% from the field, 32.4% from 3-point land and 67% from the line
  • Minot State leads the NSIC in 3-point attempts with 216 this season and is second in 3-point shots made with 70 (8.8 per game)
  • Of their eight games, they have shot fewer than 25 3-pointers in just three games
  • The guard duo of Taryn Hamling (14.9 points per game) and Maya Aguilar (13.5 points per game) are the only Beavers with over ten points per game
  • Standing at 5-9, Aguilar leads the team in rebounds with 59 (7.4 per game)
  • Jessica Mogen holds the highest field-goal percentage on the team (with at least three made shots) at 50% (32-54), while Aguilar leads the team in 3-point percentage (with at least two made shots) at 37.3% (19-51)
