Indianapolis – The Northern State University wrestling team opened the Midwest Classic on Saturday with ten Wolves in action. Northern advances three to the second day of competition and sits in 18th as a team with 31.5 points.

• No. 14 Sloan Johannsen went 1-2 in the 125-pound bracket with an opening round win over Bryson Humphries of Drury by major decision (11-1)
• Teagan Block posted a 2-2 record on the day with a pair of wins over Sean Campbell of East Stroudsburg (TF 17-2) and Nate Knowlton of Findlay (Dec 8-4)
• No. 12 Krayle Stormer went 3-1 on the day and will face Collin Twigg of Grand Valley State tomorrow in the consolation side of the bracket
• Stormer recorded sins of Cole McCullough on Newberry (TF 18-1), AJ Hague of Colorado Mesa (SV-1 7-4), and Bret Minnick of Tiffin (Dec 10-7)
• No. 10 Rudy Lopez tallied three wins for NSU and will face No. 3 Jalen Spuhler of Wisconsin Parkside in the quarterfinal round of the 149-pound bracket
