Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 22 Northern State University volleyball team lost at home Friday against the No. 16 Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. The Wolves kept it close but ultimately fell short.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State came up short in a close one against Mustangs
- SMSU won with set scores of 25-17, 26-24, 27-29, and 25-21
- The Wolves scored 73 points and had 62 kills, 58 assists, 89 digs, and 16 errors, hitting .251 as a team
- The Wolves defense forced 22 errors but allowed 74 kills and a .256 attack percentage
- Linnea Nesheim had a team high 20 kills, followed by Abby Brooks and Natalia Szybinska with 15 kills each
- Nesheim also had 12 digs and four blocks
- Brooks and Szybinska also lead the team in attack percentage with a .353 and a .350 respectively
- Ava Nilsson tallied 53 of the team's 58 assists as well as eight digs and three blocks
- Abby Schauer recorded a team high 37 digs, with Katelyn Schroeder tacking on 17 digs herself
