FIVE LAND ON NSIC ALL-CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS

Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2025 All-Conference volleyball teams this afternoon with five Northern State student-athletes honored. Abby Brooks and Natalia Szybinska recorded first team awards, while Linnea Nesheim, Ava Nilsson, and Abby Schauer were named to the second team.
 
Brooks leads the team in efficiency and at the net this season with a .399 attack percentage and 106.0 total blocks. She has amassed 263 kills, averaging 2.96 per set. The senior broke the career assisted blocks record for Northern State this season and is zeroing in on the career total blocks as well. She adds 18 digs and four assists to the 2025 team totals. The Madison native tallied 13 matches with double figure kills thus far and 20 hitting .300 or better. She ranks second in the NSIC in hitting percentage this season and leads the league in blocks. Brooks is now a 2-time All-NSIC performer, recording second team honors back in 2023.
 
Szybinska sits second on the team this season with 284 kills, averaging 3.19 per set with a .318 attack percentage. Defensively she is second on the team with 54.0 total blocks and adds 38 digs. The graduate student notched 15 contests with double figure kills, including matching her career high of 25 against Concordia-St. Paul. In addition, she has 18 matches this season with an attack percentage above .300. Szybinska ranks top-15 in the NSIC in kills per set, total kills, and attack percentage. The Wolves' outside hitter is now a 4-time NSIC All-Conference honoree with second team accolades in 2021 and 2023 and first team honors in 2024 and 2025.
 
Nesheim leads the team in 2025 with 328 total kills, averaging 3.69 kills per set. The sophomore holds a .234 attack percentage through 89 sets played, starting every match for the Wolves. In addition, she has 180 digs on the year, averaging 2.02 digs per set, 34.0 total blocks, 31 service aces, and six assists. Nesheim holds career match highs of 20 kills, 12 digs, four blocks, and five aces set this season. She has double figure kills in 22 of 26 matches played and a hitting percentage above .300 in ten contests. Nesheim sits fourth in the league in total kills and kills per set. 2025 marks the first All-NSIC honor of her career.
 
Nilsson has started every match for Northern in her redshirt freshman season, surpassing the 1,000-assist mark against Sioux Falls. She has 1,063 assists on the year, averaging 12.08 per set. In addition, Nilsson sits third on the team with 213 digs, averaging 2.42 per set. She has 40.0 blocks, 20 aces, and 19 kills in 88 sets played. The Warner native has set single match career highs in assists (59), digs (15), aces (5), and blocks (4) this season. Nilsson is currently the NSIC leader averaging just over 12.00 assists per set and sits second in total assists in 2025. Finally, she sits second nationally in assists per set and eighth in total assists heading into the final weekend of the regular season. This is the first all-conference honor of her career.
 
Schauer leads the Northern State defense with 495 digs, averaging 5.56 per set this season. She is first on the team with a .950 serve receive percentage and 16 aces and 47 assists through 89 sets played. The senior tallied a single match high of 37 digs against Southwest Minnesota State and has recorded 13 matches with over 20 digs in 2025. The libero sits atop the NSIC this season in total digs and second in digs per set. She is now a 3-time NSIC All-Conference performer for the Wolves.
