NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• The Wolves enter their first season under the direction of head coach Matt Wilber and assistant coaches Jack Nelson and Wes Smith
• NSU welcomes nine new faces heading into the season, including seven transfer student-athletes
• Northern was picked 13th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll and fifth in the North Division
• James Glenn was selected as the team's player to watch heading into 2025-26
• The Wolves opened their season with a pair of exhibition losses to Murray State and Wyoming
• Marshawn Smith led the Wolves with 25 points in the two contests, shooting 9-of-22 from the floor
• Tobi Obiora led the team at the rim with a combined ten rebounds, while Joshua Book dished out a team best four assists

 

OKALHOMA BAPTIST STORYLINES

• Oklahoma Baptist was picked second in the GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll behind Southern Nazarene
• They went 18-11 overall and 15-7 in the league last season
• OBU returns key guards who will drive the offense in Terry Coner Jr., an All-GAC performer and JC Curry
• Seth Grandberry joined the program after a strong year at Arkansas-Monticello
• The Bison also return Joshua Udoumoh and Erik Madrid from their 2024-25 roster
• Head Coach Jason Eaker enters his eighth season

SOUTHERN NAZARENE STORYLINES

• The Storm were picked first in the GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll after a 22-7 season in 2024-25 and trip to the GAC Tournament Championship game; ultimately falling to Harding University by a score of 75-74
• Southern Nazarene returns seven from last season, including starters Baron Bracey, James Burries, and Tracy Godfrey Jr.
• Bracey averaged a team second best 13.8 points per game last season, shooting 48.5% from the floor
• SNU is led by head coach BJ Foster in his eight season at the helm

 

THE WOLVES AND STORM HISTORY

• Northern is 1-1 all-time against Southern Nazarene with match-ups in November of 2016 and 2019
• The Wolves took the 2016 contest 91-88 and fell 67-61 in 2019
