Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University Athletics and Sanford Health announced today the addition of Allison Susa as an assistant athletic trainer for the Wolves. Susa joins the team following a stint as a lead athletic trainer with the Minnesota Twins. She will serve as the primary athletic trainer for the women's basketball and baseball teams.

"Allison's experience and proven dedication to athlete care will enhance our already exceptional team serving Northern State University."
"I'm excited to join the wonderful athletic training staff at Northern State," noted Susa. "I'm looking forward to working with the outstanding athletic department and coaches, in supporting the student-athletes."
Susa served the Twins organization in two capacities, mostly recently as the lead trainer during their Florida Complex League from January of 2023 to October of 2024. Prior to that, she was an assistant athletic trainer for the St. Paul Saints beginning in March of 2022.
Susa is not a stranger to college athletics or the Northern Sun, serving as an athletic trainer at Minnesota Duluth from 2019-2022. In addition, she held roles with the Boston Red Sox organization (2019), the Arkansas Children's Hospital (2018), and River Valley Therapy and Sports Medicine (2018). Susa opened her career as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Central Arkansas from 2016-18.
A member of multiple athletic training organizations, Susa earned the Excellence in Athletic Training Award given out by the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association and Call of Duty Award given out by Arkansas State Athletic Trainers' Association in 2018.
Susa holds a bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and master's degree in Exercise Sport Science from the University of Central Arkansas. She will begin her duties with the department on Monday, November 11.
