Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Chloe Voss (soccer) and Mason Fey (wrestling) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.
Voss aided in the Wolves 1-1 weekend against Augustana and Southwest Minnesota State. She recorded four shots and two shot-on-goal against the Vikings. The sophomore tallied two goals, six shots, 4 shot-on-goal, and one assists against Southwest Minnesota State. She notched a .600 shot-on-goal percentage on the 1-1 weekend. The Andover native tied for the week in the NSIC with 5.0 shots per game.
Fey won the 174-pound bracket at the Jimmie Open with a 4-0 record. He scored 20.5 team points at the open. The junior kicked off his season with a 1:59 victory by fall over Harrison Grad of BSC. He defeated Anthony Sykora (MSUM) in an 11-1 major decision in the quarterfinals. The Redfield native rattled off a 16-0 technical fall over Alex Kowalchyk (NDSU) in the semifinal match. Fey captured the title with a 16-2 major decision win over Mason Gode (MSUM).
