Wolves Start a Win-Streak After Beating Warriors

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team started the weekend off hot, defeating Winona State from the Athletic & Recreation Fields. The 2-1 victory saw Kelsey Selden and Paige Johnson led the Wolves offense as the goal scorers.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Kelsey Selden tallied her second goal of the season in the first half, kick starting the Wolves offense; Mia Zagorski assisted on the play
  • Paige Johnson kept the pressure on the Warriors after a goal at the 36-minute mark, while Zagorski notched her second assist of the evening on the play
  • The Warriors responded back with a goal by Grace Seim at the 38-minute mark
  • The Wolves fended off a number of Warrior attacks in the contest with Winona State out-shooting Northern 10-6 in total shots and 6-4 in shots on goal
  • Alexus Townsend tallied four saves in her fourth win of the season
  • Each team recorded four corner kicks, while the Warriors tallied eight fouls to the Wolves five
