Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern State University soccer team opened their 2023 NSIC slate with a 2-0 weekend against MSU Moorhead and Minot State, and junior Zoe Boughton was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week. The first league honor of the Wolf's career.

- Was part of a defense that recorded a pair of shutouts
- Started both contests, playing 166 total minutes
- Held MSUM to just eight shots, including one on goal in a 1-0 win
- Limited Minot State to 10 shots, including two on goal in another 1-0 win
- MSUM and Minot State tallied a combined four corner kicks and a .167 shot on goal percentage
- The win over Minot State was the first in program history for the Wolves
