Red Raider Open Kicks off Tomorrow for Wolves Track and Field

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams will travel to Northwestern College and the Red Raider Open this Friday and Saturday. Start times are set for 1 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday with the multi events.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are coming off a busy weekend of competition, with three Wolves in action from California and the full team competing in Nebraska
  • Renea Taylor, Josh Martin, and Jackson Harrison traveled to the Pacific Coast and Mt. SAC Relays recording one race victory, five top-10 finishes, four NCAA provisional times, and three school records
  • Northern tallied 20 top-10 finishes from the Concordia Invite, competing in field events only (the running events were canceled due to weather)
 
WOLVES IN THE TOP-25 NATIONALLY
  • Renea Taylor is ranked in three events nationally sitting 22nd in the 200m (23.98), 12th in the 100m (11.58), and sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:00.22)
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Renea Taylor broke the 100m school record set in 2017 by Hanneke Oosterwegel with a time of 11.59 at the Dutch Invite and re-broke that record at the Pacific Coast Invite with a time of 11.58
  • Taylor also tallied a school record performance in the 200m at the Pacific Coast Invite, running to a time of 23.98
  • Josh Martin broke the 17-year old school record in the 1500m at Mt. SAC with a time of 3:54.58
  • Jackson Harrison knocked down his own school record in the 5000m at Mt. SAC with a time of 14:24.47
