Northern State Swimming Adds Four Members to 2022-23 Signing Class

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head coach Kaden Huntrods announced the addition of four student-athletes to national letters of intent as Alexia Hoven (Aberdeen, S.D.), Emma Beavers (Redwood Falls, Minn.), Annalise Olsson (Richland, Wash.), and Hilary Sonnabend (Brillion, Wis.) made their commitments official. They join the 2022-23 class of Katelyn Axtell, Jacie Flockhart, and Guusje van Lent who signed earlier this. The fall signing release can be found HERE.
 
Alexia Hoven – Fly & Free / Aberdeen, S.D. / Aberdeen Central HS
Alexia Hoven is a 5-foot-10, butterfly and freestyle swimmer out of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Aberdeen Central High School. She was a 9-year member of the Aberdeen Swim Club, recording personal best times of 24.82 in the 50-yard freestyle (SCY), 54.17 in the 100-yard freestyle (SCY), 5:23.81 in the 500-yard freestyle (SCY), 56.62 in the 100-yard butterfly (LCM), and 2:05.14 in the 200-yard butterfly (LCM). Hoven is a multi-year Sectionals and USA Swimming Futures qualifier. She set two state records during her prep career in the 50-yard butterfly (2017) and the 100-yard butterfly (2018). She is the daughter of Jeremy and Renae Hoven.
 

Emma Beavers – Breast / Redwood Falls, Minn. / Redwood Falls HS
Emma Beavers is a 5-foot-3, breaststroke swimmer out of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and Redwood Falls High School. She was a 6-year letter winner for the Cardinals under the direction of head coach Nikki Axe-Bell, helping Redwood Falls to four consecutive conference championships as a team from 2018-21. She holds personal best times of 2:29.88 in the 200-yard IM and 1:11.00 in the 100-yard breaststroke. She was an 8-year member of the Southwest Swim Club, winning the age group championship in the 100-yard breaststroke in 2020. She is the daughter of Matt and Sara Beavers.
 

Annalise Olsson – Sprint, Free, & Back / Richland, Wash. / Alaska Fairbanks
Annalise Olsson is a 5-foot-9, sprint, freestyle, and backstroke swimmer out of Richland, Washington, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She was a 4-year member of the Tri-City Channel Cats swim club, recording personal best times of 27.54 in the 50-yard freestyle and 59.71 in the 100-yard freestyle. She is the daughter of Kevin and Kristine Olsson.
 

Hilary Sonnabend – Free & Breast / Brillion, Wis. / Brillion HS
Hilary Sonnabend is a 5-foot-8, freestyle and breaststroke swimmer out of Brillion, Wisconsin, and Brillion High School. Under the direction of head coach Jody Schwarz she recorded personal best times of 26.12 in the 50-yard freestyle and 1:18.85 in the 100-yard breaststroke. While helping the Lions secure a runner-up finish in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference in 2022, Sonnabend earned second team all-conference honors in the 50-yard freestyle and as a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay. In 2022 she also became a WIAA D1 Sectional qualifier in both the 50-yard freestyle and as a 200-yard freestyle relay member. She is the daughter of David Sonnabend.
