Josh Martin and
Renea Taylor represented the Northern State University track and field teams from the Long Beach Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday. The pair placed in the top-5 in each event, including an event victory.
Martin kicked off the day with a race win in the 800m, finishing with a time of 1:53.89. Next up was Taylor in the 100m, taking third overall with a school record time of 11.58. Taylor improved upon her own school record of 11.59 set a weekend ago. The sophomore capped off her day with a fifth place finish in the 200m, racing to a school record time of 23.98. The previous 200m record was set by Hanneke Oosterwegel in 2017 with a time of 24.52. The provisional mark by Taylor in the 200m, places her in the top-20 nationally.
Northern State continues action tomorrow and Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays and Concordia Invite. Competition start times at Concordia are set for 2 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. At Mt. SAC Taylor is set to compete in the 400m hurdles, Martin in the 1500m, and
Jackson Harrison in the 5000m.
