Day Three of NCAA Championships Complete for Grebner after 400 IM

Indianapolis, Ind. – Lilly Grebner was unable to advance out of the prelims of the 400-yard IM on Thursday morning during the fourth session of the 2023 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships. The freshman led during the early stages of the second heat, however, would finish fifth in the heat and 27th overall.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lilly Grebner led during the early stages of the 400-yard IM in the second heat, however she fell to a fifth place finish in the heat and 27th overall in the event with a time of 4:28.94
  • Grebner's time of 4:28.94 was just 1.04 seconds off her personal best time in the event set at the NSIC Championships
  • Grebner recorded splits of 27.70 and 31.90 in the butterfly for a time of 59.60 after 100 yards, splits of 34.44 and 34.44 in the backstroke for a time of 2:08.48 after 200 yards, splits of 39.27 and 40.38 in the breaststroke for a time of 3:28.13 after 300 yards, and splits of 31.58 and 29.23 in the freestyle for a time of 4:28.94 after 400 yards

Lilly Grebner will complete her stay at the 2023 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships tomorrow with her final event, the 200-yard butterfly. Prelims will once again get underway at 9 a.m. (CST) with the finals taking place starting at 5 p.m. (CST) at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
