Turnquist and Huss Represent Wolves on NSIC All-Conference Teams

Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2022-23 Wrestling All-Conference teams this morning with two Northern State University Wolves honored. Wyatt Turnquist earned the 149-pound spot on the first team, while Cole Huss landed on the second team at 197-pounds.
 
Turnquist holds a 17-2 record this season and 8-1 mark in the Northern Sun. The South Dakota native is ranked No. 8 in the nation at 149-pounds this season and tallied seven bonus point victories in 2022-23. He recorded an upset victory over No. 3 Filippo of Central Oklahoma to kick off the season and placed second at the UWP Jim Koch Open. This is the second first team honor of his career.
 
Huss is 11-3 on the year and went 7-2 in the Northern Sun. The Nebraska native is ranked No. 3 in the nation at 197-pounds and holds four bonus points victories in 2022-23. He recorded a ranked victory over No. 4 Henry of Fort Hays State at the Midwest Duals.
 
The all-conference teams were selected by the league coaches with the top point receivers at each weight class being named first team and the next named to the second team.  The NSIC Wrestler of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year will be selected by the league coaches and announced following the NCAA Division II Championships.

Next up for NSIC Wrestling will be the NCAA Super Region V tournament, which is scheduled to take place Saturday, Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. in Aberdeen, South Dakota, hosted by Northern State University.  NCAA Super Region V is made up of the ten NSIC wrestling institutions. The top three finishers in each weight class will advance to the NCAA Championships, hosted by Upper Iowa University, on March 10-11 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
