Fan Primer: No. 20 Northern State Welcomes MSU Moorhead for I Hate Winter

Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 20 Northern State wrestling hosts MSU Moorhead in their final NSIC home dual of the 2022-23 season. The Wolves and Dragons will face-off at 7 p.m. in the 2023 I Hate Winter dual from Wachs Arena.

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

Fans will be able to enter the Barnett Center through the north doors. The ticket gate located at the north doors of the Barnett Center, and will open one hour prior to face-off for all general admission and same day ticket sales. 

 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales  and the passbook (individuals must sign in via the far right line at the ticket gate) will be available at the north entrance of the Barnett Center. There is no re-entry into the facility.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email. 

 

Concessions and Team Store

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. In addition, Sodexo supports local non-profits through a variety of opportunities. Contact NSU Dining Services at 605-626-2928 to learn more. 

The NSU Nike Team Store will be open in its main Barnett Center location on game day, opening one hour prior to face-off.

#20 NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • Northern State enters their final home dual of the 2023 season with an 8-4 record and 3-3 mark in the NSIC
  • Wyatt Turnquist leads the team with a 14-2 record this season, followed by Cole Huss (9-2) and Landen Fischer (13-8)
  • The Wolves are currently ranked No. 20 in the NWCA Poll with two individually ranked student-athletes in No. 3 Cole Huss (197), and No. 7 Turnquist (149)

 

MSU MOORHEAD STORYLINES

  • The Dragons enter the weekend with a 1-8 record overall and 0-7 mark in the NSIC
  • Their lone dual victory came against Jamestown (23-16) to open the season
  • Moorhead is led by head coach Kris Nelson in his 14th season at the helm
     

LAST MATCH-UP

  • The Wolves defeated the Dragons 21-18 on the road in 2022
  • Returners that tallied wins in the dual include Landen Fischer (Dec 11-4), Kolton Roth (Maj 12-2), Wyatt Turnquist (Dec 7-1), and Kelby Hawkins (Dec 9-8)
