Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 11 Northern State University wrestling team is set for a busy week, hosting No. 25 Fort Hays State on Thursday and traveling to the DWU Open on Saturday. The Wolves and Tigers will face off at 7 p.m. from Wachs Arena and open competition kicks off at 9 a.m. in Mitchell.

#11 NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• Northern is coming off a solid weekend at the Jamestown Jimmie Open
• Weight class winners for the Wolves included Landen Fischer, Jason Henschel Jr., Barydon Mogle, No. 1 Wyatt Turnquist, and Chase Bloomquist
• The Wolves in competition went 53-17 from Jamestown racking up eight top-5 placings
• The NWCA release their preseason rankings with Wolves ranked 11^th in the country
• Four wrestlers garnered national rankings including Turnquist (#1 – 149), Bahr (#7 – 157), Huss (#7 – 197), and Treyton Cacek (#12 – 184)

• The Tigers enter the week with a 1-1 record, opening their 2023-24 season with a loss to Northern Colorado and win against New Mexico Highlands
• Fort Hays is ranked 25^th in the recent NWCA poll with 197-pounder Tereus Henry sitting third in the nation
• The Tigers are led by head coach Erik Wince in his fourth season at the helm
